Simply a name change

From December 1, 2021 Thrifty Car Rental became SIXT. It is simply a branding change. The overall business is still owned by NRMA and Yamba Marina is one of NRMA’s agent outlets. Everything is still the same. Same car, truck and bus fleet. Same staff and same operating hours. SIXT is a German company and operates around the world. They are heavily committed to electric vehicles. There are some 180 SIXT outlets around Australia. As the only full-time hire car company in Yamba we are committed to looking after your hire car needs.

High tide plus flood water flow

This is a 1.85 metre tide. There is extra water in the river system because of the huge rainfalls inland and to the north. The waters are brown but will clear up soon in time for the holidays. The Clarence River is flowing fast with all the extra water so be careful out there. Look out for floating hazards.

Hard work pays off

Yamba tides…..

We often get asked about tides at marina. The total range is from about .02 of a metre (low) to 2.1 metres (high). The main picture is a tide of about 1.8 metres and there’s plenty of room as you can see from the second picture for the floating marina to cope with more water. Huge amounts of water flow up and down the Clarence River every day however as the marina is in a protected harbour the marina simply floats up and down. A safe place for boats in all weather.

The busy times are here

Boating season is here and activity is really picking up. Boats on the hardstand, fuel tankers bringing bulk fuel and hire boats out every day. Bookings for the holidays are very strong. If you are planning to come to the marina in the next few month call us NOW. We want to find a berth for you…but it’s first-in best dressed!
